forum > Does haxe use Alchemy all the time

  • Does any file compiled from a Haxe source use Alchemy by default? Or is the alchemy used API a specific portion of the haxe api? The reason I ask is because I dont want to be subject to 10% tax using Haxe and Stage3d.

  • No, Haxe does not use 'Alchemy' type features by default. I think maybe you can use either flash memory or stage3d (linked to a class in the flash.display3d api folder which I think relates to the stage3d ) but not both and still be exempt from the speed tax but you will need to check the terms. But for everyday flash you will not have a problem, you have to actively use speed tax features or haxelib's that use them, but general libraries like feffect or actuate for instance don't use speed tax features.
